Alhambra Preservation Group Sponsors "Meet the Candidates" Night

On Wednesday October 22, more than 165 Alhambrans attended the 2008 Meet the Candidates Forum sponsored by the Alhambra Preservation Group and moderated by The League of Women Voters, Pasadena Area.

All three candidates running for council office, Efren Moreno, Steven Placido and Gary Yamauchi participated in the pre-election event held at Almansor Court. They fielded questions from community members about a variety of issues facing Alhambra including community planning, schools, environmental sustainability, historic preservation, public health and safety and infrastructure concerns.

"The purpose of the Meet the Candidates Forum was to provide city council candidates with an opportunity to address policy issues vital to Alhambra’s future," said Chris Olson, Vice-President of the Alhambra Preservation Group. "The large number of Alhambrans attending this event on a weeknight demonstrated the interest our electorate has receiving the information they need to cast an informed vote."
